What is Botox?

Botox is a neuromodulator that blocks nerve signals to the targeted muscle. This toxin is derived from Clostridium botulinum. When injected in small doses, Botox temporarily relaxes the muscle and improves the appearance of wrinkles. This gives the appearance of fuller, plumper lips without adding volume. This treatment is also a great way to address gummy smiles.

Another use of Botox is improving hyperhidrosis. Excessive sweating can put a damper on your life. However, with a few injections, you can see a big improvement. While it is FDA approved for treating excessive sweating in the underarms, it is also used off-label to reduce sweaty hands, feet, and face.
